Holidays can be a challenging time for families, leaving them without structure, routine and support. This can influence family relationships with tensions running high and everyone becoming frustrated. We host holiday programmes for children and families, facilitating activities which bring children, or the whole family together, to have a fun day, focused upon team work and laughter. So far this year, we have engaged over 200 people in our activities.
Mental health is a key topic for discussion, with both Government and Ofsted recognising the importance and significance within education.
We recognise that there is an increasing demand upon schools to offer a support service for children and families, without which, can impact on relationships, behaviour, attendance, performance and attainment. We know that mental health is a significant issue, impacting 1 in 10 children, with 70% not receiving adequate support.
